ECOMARINE’s Coordinator, Professor Georgios Georgiou (University of Cyprus) visited the two Marine Monitoring Labs (MMLs) established in Malaysia in the framework of the project. On March 22, 2024, he visited the MML in the main campus of Universiti Malaysia Terengganu. Professor Keshaven Bhubalan, Dr. Jen Nie Lee, Dr. Yusof Shuaib Bin Ibrahim, and Dr. Poh Seng Chee demonstrated the facilities and provided more information regarding the purchased equipment and the operation of the Lab.
On March 2024, Dr. Georgiou visited the MML of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). This is located in Tanjung Resang, Mersing on the east coast of Malaysia, 350 km from UKM campus. Professor Shahriman Mohd Ghazali and Dr. Ester Salimun guided Dr. Georgiou through the Lab.
